The Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee (WHSSC) is responsible for the joint planning of Specialised and Tertiary Services on behalf of NHS Wales. This includes commissioning fertility services which are governed by two clinical commissioning policies: CP37 Pre-implantation Genetic Testing - Monogenic Disorders and CP38: Specialist Fertility Services - Assisted Reproductive Medicine
It is a normal part of our work to review policies on a regular basis to ensure that they reflect the most up to date clinical evidence and the needs of the wider NHS in Wales.
The commissioning policies for assisted reproductive medicine and Pre-implantation Genetic Testing – Monogenic Disorders (PGT- M) are currently undergoing review, and as part of this process WHSSC would like to engage with key stakeholders to gather their views on these commissioning policies (and the accompanying Equality Impact Screening and Assessments forms) which are accessible below.
The consultation process will run until the 17th February 2023.
