Joint Committee Meetings are normally held bi-monthly and are open to the public. This allows the public to see that decisions are made in an open and transparent way. It also demonstrates the accountability of the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee (WHSSC) to Welsh residents. However, the COVID-19 crisis has resulted in us having to make some temporary changes to the way in which the Joint Committee operates.
During the COVID-19 crisis, Joint Committee meetings will be held virtually. Given that the Joint Committee will not meet in person for some time, virtual meetings and electronic communication will be key to the Joint Committee's functionality. As a result of this, members of the public will be unable to attend in person.
